The start of last week didn't save us from the rain, so again our activity was interrupted and the nets were temporarily closed due to bad weather.
With open nets, the number of ringed birds is around 90-150 on the best days, which makes us understand that the migration is ongoing.
We cought several species, including: tree pipit (Anthus trivialis), barn swallow (Hirundo rustica), house martin (Delichon urbicum), sand martin (Riparia riparia), skylark (alauda aervensis), blackbird (Turdus merula), nightingale (Luscinia megarhynchos), and jack snipe (Lymnocryptes minimus), a species not often ringed at the Ponza station!
