Ieri, a causa di vento e pioggia, le reti sono state chiuse intorno alle 5 di pomeriggio. Durante la giornata si sono catturati un totale di circa 70 uccelli, fra cui un Lucherino, specie non molto comune per la stazione di Ponza. Infatti, è solo il terzo esemplare di questa specie catturato dalle nostre reti nella dal 2002 (potete controllare alla sezione 'Risorse/Specie catturate 2002-2017' del nostro sito).
Stamattina abbiamo riaperto le reti verso le 7, il che ci ha permesso di catturare un bell'esemplare di Sterpazzola di sardegna. A metà giornata il vento forte ci ha fatto richiudere parte delle reti più esposte.
A marzo il meteo diventa imprevedibile e mutevole, perciò bisogna essere pronti e reagire di conseguenza!
Yesterday, due to wind and rain, the nets has eben closed around 5 pm. During the day a total of about 70 birds were captured, including a Siskin: a species not very common for the Ponza station. In fact, it is only the third specimen of this species that has been caught by our nets since 2002 (you can check the section 'Resources / Captured Species 2002-2017' of our site).
This morning we reopened the nets around 7 am, which allowed us to capture a nice individual of Spectacled warbler. In the middle of the day, the strong wind forced us to close part of the most exposed nets.
In March, the weather becomes unpredictable and variable, so we have to be ready and react accordingly!
