Un'altra stagione volge al termine. Il 2021 è stata una stagione un po' più facile rispetto al 2020 in termini di partecipazione di esterni al CISCA team, ma ancora non ci era possibile accogliere i volontari come un tempo per la maggior parte della stagione a causa della situazione internazionale relativa al COVID-19.
Sebbene il tempo non fosse sempre favorevole abbiamo chiuso la stagione intorno ai 17500 individui inanellati. Ponza è quindi, per il secondo anno consecutivo, la stazione che ha totalizzato il maggior numero di uccelli inanellati durante il Progetto Piccole Isole e una fra le stazioni d'Italia con il più elevato numero di catture.
L'ultimo uccello inanellato dell'anno è stato un Canapino maggiore (Hippolais icterina), una specie migratrice transahariana molto comune in questo periodo dell'anno.
Another season draws to a close. 2021 was a bit easier season than 2020 in terms of participation people external to the CISCA team, but we still couldn't welcome volunteers as we used to for most of the season due to the international COVID-19 situation.
Although the weather was not always favourable, we closed the season at around 17500 ringed individuals. Ponza is, therefore, for the second consecutive year, the station that has totaled the highest number of birds ringed during the Small Islands Project and one of the stations in Italy with the highest number of catches.
The last ringed bird of the year was a Icterine warbler (Hippolais icterina), a trans-Saharan migratory species, very common at this time of year.
Ci teniamo a ringraziare tutti i volontari, i visitatori, gli inanellatori e coloro che ci hanno supportato in questa stagione ancora una volta. In particolare un enorme grazie va alla splendida squadra che ha contribuito a smontare e chiudere la stazione, una fase importante e delicata per cui c'è bisogno di energie e organizzazione.
