Eccoci qui, di nuovo sull'isola e di nuovo attivi presso la stazione di inanellamento di Ponza. Oggi, 23 febbraio 2022, è iniziata ufficialmente la stagione di attività di campo 2022.
Here we are, back on the island and active again at the Ponza ringing station. Today, February the 23rd, 2022, the field activity season of the current year officially began.
Dopo frenetici preparativi e qualche giorno di maltempo, abbiamo aperto le reti all'alba, con un meraviglioso sole e un cielo terso che preannunciavano un meteo favoloso, come potete vedere anche dalle foto.
La prima cattura dell'anno è stato un Pettirosso, seguito da altre specie tipiche della stagione, come il Codirosso spazzacamino e la Passera scopaiola. Nel giro delle prime due ore di attività abbiamo inanellato 30 uccelli, per arrivare a circa 50 uccelli inanellati in totale a fine giornata.
After frantic preparations and a few days of bad weather, we opened the nets at dawn, with a wonderful sun and clear skies that announced today's fabulous weather, as you can also see from the photos.
The first catch of the year was a Robin, followed by other species typical of the season, such as the Black redstart and the Dunnock. Within the first two hours of activity we ringed 30 birds, arriving at around 50 birds ringed in total at the end of the day.
Già il primo giorno siamo stati allietati da una bella sorpresa, ovvero la prima ricattura dell'anno! Si tratta di un Occhiocotto molto probabilmente inanellato qui a Ponza l'anno scorso!
Already on this first day of activity, we were delighted by a nice surprise, that is the first retrap of the year! This is an Sardinian warbler, most likely ringed here in Ponza last year!
