Il 6 febbraio 2017 è stato pubblicato su PNAS un articolo sugli importanti risultati della ricerca scientifica condotta presso il Centro di Ricerca di Ponza. PNAS - Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America - è una delle più rilevanti e onnicomprensive riviste scientifiche sulla scena multidisciplinare odierna.
Il titolo dell'articolo è:
e riporta prove sperimentali del fatto che gli ormoni che regolano l'appetito influiscano sul comportamento migratorio. E' un'importantissima affermazione nel campo della fisiologia della migrazione, poiché fornisce il congiungimento mancante fra fattori ecologicamente dipendenti, come le condizioni e le tempistiche di migrazione. Inoltre, vengono fornite ineteressanti informazioni circa la regolazione del sistema ormonale che controlla l'ingerimento di cibo e l'immagazzinamento di energie nei vertebrati.

On the 6th of February 2017 an article reporting the very important results of the scientific research carried on at the Ponza Research Centre has been published on PNAS - Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America - one of the world's most-cited and comprehensive multidisciplinary scientific journals.
The article's title is '
and it reports experimental evidence that appetite-regulating hormones control migratory behavior. The study lays a milestone in migration physiology because it provides the missing link between ecologically dependent factors such as condition and timing of migration. Moreover, it offers insights in the regulation of the hormonal system controlling food intake and energy stores in vertebrates.
