La migrazione procede sospinta e regolare: la media è di circa 200 catture giornaliere, con maggioranza di pettirossi, tordi e codirossi. Molte altre specie, come documentato nelle foto sopra, hanno fatto visita alla stazione. Per esempio, in questi giorni abbiamo avuto la prima Cutrettola e il primo Forapaglie della stagione 2017.
All'alba di sabato 1 aprile, una specie non comune è entrata nelle nostre reti: un bellissimo esemplare di Frullino (vedi foto sotto).
The migration proceeds abundant and regular: the average consists of about 200 daily catches, with a majority of Robins, Thrushes and Redstarts. Many other species, as documented in the photos above, visited the station. During these days, in fact, we had the first Western Yellow Wagtail nd the first Sedge warbler of the 2017 season. At the dawn on Saturday 1 April, an uncommon species has come into our nets: a beautiful example of Jack snipe (see photo below).
Il Frullino è normalmente legato a zone d'acqua - è possibile osservarlo presso acquitrini erbosi, prati allagati, risaie, marcite, rive paludose di laghi, fiumi, stagni, specchi d'acqua artificiali, piccole zone umide anche d'alta montagna, zone salmastre costiere. Specie migratrice, in Italia è di passo in settembre-ottobre e in marzo-aprile; localmente sosta anche per tutto il periodo invernale. Per quel che concerne gli inanellamenti, la percentuale maggiore di segnalazioni si riferisce alle fasi di migrazione autunnale e svernamento. E' importante sapere che il Frullino è una SPECIE PARTICOLARMENTE PROTETTA DALLA DIRETTIVA UCCELLI.
The Jack snipe is normally linked to wetlands and watery environments - grassy marshes, flooded meadows, rice fields, marshy shores of lakes, rivers, ponds, artificial lakes, small wetlands in the high mountains, brackish coastal areas. Being a migratory species in Italy, it is present within our territory in September-October and March-April; locally it can stop even over the whole winter period. The highest percentage of Jack snipe's is reported during the autumn migration phase and during wintering. It is important to underline that the Jack snipe is a PARTICULARLY PROTECTED SPECIES IN THE BIRDS DIRECTIVE.
Per quanto riguarda le condizioni meteorologiche, è stato prevalentemente bel tempo durante la scorsa settimana alla stazione di Ponza: sole sempre splendente, con l'aggiunta, però, di venticello primaverile per qualche giorno.
La mattina di venerdì è cominciata in un'atmosfera un po' surreale, con una nuvola di foschia che avvolgeva l'isola.
Mainly nice weather over the past week at the Ponza station: it has been always sunny, with the addition, however, of a spring breeze for a few days. Friday morning began in a somewhat 'surreal' atmosphere, with a hazy cloud that enveloped the island.
