Questa è una settimana sensazionale dal punto di vista delle catture effettuate. Infatti, alcune fra le informazioni più importanti ed interessanti possono essere rilevate grazie alla ricattura di uccelli già inanellati, e nei giorni scorsi questo è accaduto per ben tre volte...incredibile!
The present one is an amazing week in terms of value of data collected. Indeed, one of the most valuable type of data we can gather through our activity is the retrap of an already ringed animal. In the last few days, this happened to us three times, which is incredible!
Martedì mattina 16 aprile, abbiamo trovato nelle nostre reti una rondine inanellata in Inghilterra (è possibile vedere il dettaglio dell'anello nella foto sopra, in cui si legge parzialmente la scritta 'London', ovvero Londra).
On Tuesday morning - 16th of April, we found in our nets a barn swallow that was ringed in England (you can see in the photo the detail of the ring where you can artially read the writing 'London').
Subito dopo abbiamo catturato un luì grosso con anello francese.
Right after that, we caught a willow warbler with a French ring.
E come se non bastasse, ieri 17 aprile una sterpazzola inanellata la scorsa stagione in Italia è passata dalla nostra stazione.
As if we did not have enough, yesterday - the 17th of April - a whitethroat that was ringed last year in Italy passed at our station.
Queste sono ricattura davvero importanti, poichè ci permettono di capire meglio le rotte e le abitudini migratorie dei passeriformi, il che rappresenta l'obiettivo principale dell'inanellamento a scopo scientifico.
These are very important retraps, because they let us understand the migratory routes and habits of passerine birds, which is the main aim of the scientific ringing activity.
