Vi presentiamo il Forapaglie castagnolo (Acrocephalus melanopogon, Temminck, 1823), e in questa foto vedete il primo esemplare di questa specie catturato a Ponza (cattura avvenuta nel 2017)!
Il Forapaglie castagnolo è un uccello tipicamente palustre. L'habitat ideale per la nidificazione è composto da canneti, cespugli e altra vegetazione acquatica affiorante
Ha una coda corta, becco dritto e un vistoso sopracciglio bianco.
Questa specie è particolarmente protetto dalla Direttiva Uccelli dell'UE (79/409/CEE), tanto che è inserito nell'Allegato I, dove sono previste misure speciali di conservazione per quanto riguarda l’habitat, al fine di garantire la sopravvivenza e la riproduzione di tali specie nella loro area di distribuzione.
Infatti, il Comitato Italiano dell'IUCN (Unione Mondiale per la Conservazione della Natura) considera questa specie come VULNERABILE, ovvero apprtenente alla categoria di minaccia più bassa. Ciò significa che è una di quelle specie che corrono un crescente rischio di estinzione nel breve o medio termine. La popolazione di Forapaglie castagnolo in Italia è considerata in declino e la principale minaccia è costituita dalla distruzione dell'habitat palustre. Infatti, interventi non sempre attenti nella gestione delle zone umide riducono ai minimi termini la vegetazione idonea per la costruzione del nido.
Grazie a questa cattura, è possibile capire come l'inanellamento a scopo scientifico sia di aiuto nella valutazione dello stato delle popolazioni delle specie ornitiche nel nostro paese.
We introduce you the Moustached Warbler (Acrocephalus melanopogon, Temminck, 1823), and in this photo you see the first specimen of this species captured in Ponza (in 2017)!
The Moustached Warbler occupies low aquatic vegetation, especially reedbeds, but also rush stands, sedges, reedmace (Typha) and others, often with admixture of bushes or tamarisks (Tamarix), which consists in a suitable habitat for nesting. It has a short tail, a straight beak, and a bright eyebrow.
This species is particularly protected by the EU Birds Directive (79/409 / EEC) and is included in Annex I, where special habitat conservation measures are envisaged to ensure the survival and reproduction of such species in their distribution area.
In fact, the Italian IUCN Committee (International Union for the Conservation of Nature) considers this species as VULNERABLE, or falling into the lowest level of the threatened species' category. This means that it is one of those species that run an increasing risk of extinction in the short or medium term. The population of Moustached Warbler in Italy is considered to be declining and the main threat is the destruction of the marshes' habitat. In fact, interventions not always careful in the management of wetlands reduce to the minimum the vegetation suitable for nest construction.
Thanks to this capture, it is possible to understand how sounding for scientific purposes is helpful in assessing the status of populations of ornithic species in our country.
