Nonostante la pioggia intermittente, nella giornata di ieri abbiamo riempito 11 pagine del nostro registro di inanellamento, il che significa che più o meno abbiamo inanellato 165 uccelli.
Anche oggi il sole ha giocato a nascondino con le nuvole e qualche pioggia sparsa, ma abbiamo raggiunto a malapena 6 pagine del registro, quindi più o meno 90 uccelli inanellati.
Despite the intermittent rain, yesterday we filled 11 pages of our activities' register, which means that we have more or less ringed 165 birds. Today the sun played hide and seek with clouds and we had some scattered rain, so we have barely reached 6 pages of data, so more or less 90 ringed birds.
Fra queste scarse catture, però, emergono due esemplari di calandrella e due di luì bianco, in un solo giro di monitoraggio alle reti.
Among these scarce catches, however, we caught two specimens of greter short-toed lark and two of bonelli's warbler, in a single round of monitoring the nets.
La calandrella (Calandrella brachydactyla) nidifica in Europa meridionale, Africa nord occidentale, nelle aree temperate dell'Asia, per lo più a terra, vicino a cespugli, alte erbe, in habitat di piana alluvionale. Quasi tutte le popolazioni, tranne quelle che risiedono più a sud, sono migratorie, svernano a sud nelle zone più meridionali del Sahara. E' una specie di passaggio nell'Europa occidentale e settentrionale in primavera e in autunno.
Il luì bianco (Phylloscopus bonelli) è presente in quasi tutta Europa, dove trascorre la stagione più mite, da aprile a settembre, per lo più in montagna in boschi di conifere, cedui e boschi misti fino ai 2.000 metri. La sua residenza invernale è invece a sud del Sahara, che raggiunge dopo un lungo volo migratorio.
The greater short-toed lark (Calandrella brachydactyla) nests in southern Europe, north-western Africa, and in the temperate areas of Asia, mostly on the ground, near bushes and tall grasses, in habitats of flood plain. Almost all the populations, except those that reside southern part of their distribution area, are migratory: they spend the winter in the southernmost areas of the Sahara. It is a species of passage in western and northern Europe in spring and autumn.
The bonelli's warbler (Phylloscopus bonelli) is present in almost all of Europe, where it spends the mildest season, from April to September, mostly in the mountains in coniferous forests, coppices and mixed forests up to 2,000 meters. His winter residence is instead at the south of the Sahara, which he reaches after a long migratory flight.
Come potete vedere dal grafico, queste specie non entrano molto di frequente nelle nostre reti e in alcuni anni, come nel 2017, non si è catturato alcun esemplare.
As you can see from the graph, these species do not enter very frequently in our nets and in some years, as in 2017, no specimens have been captured.
