Dopo le prime roboanti tre settimane di maggio, il ritmo di inanellamento è andato sempre più rallentando. Da giornate con circa 500-900 ucelli al giorno, siamo passati ad un massimo di 150. Anche gli ultimi transhariani stanno finendo di passare quindi, e le specie tipiche rimangono sempre le solite di questo periodo, senza enormi sorprese: Canapino maggiore (Hippolais icterina), Beccafico (Sylvia borin), Sterpazzola (Sylvia communis) e Pigliamosche (Muscicapa striata). Alle reti capitano ogni tanto Averla piccola (Lanius collurio) e Averla capirossa (Lanius senator), ma anche un esemplare di Cuculo (Cuculus canorus) e qualche sporadico Cannareccione (Acrocephalus arundinaceus), Tortora selvatica (Strapetopelia turtur), e Succiacapre (Caprimulgus europaeus).
Fra le centinaia di canapini inanellati, ne abbiamo trovato uno già provvisto di anello, ottenuto in una qualche stazione Norvegese.
After the first exceptional three weeks of May, the ringing pace has slowed down more and more. From days with about 500-900 birds per day, we have gone to a maximum of 150. Even the last transharanians are finishing to pass, and the typical species always remain the usual ones of this period, without big surprises at the nets: Melodious warbler (Hippolais icterina), Garden warbler (Sylvia borin), White throat (Sylvia communis) and Spotted flycatcher (Muscicapa striata). At the nets we occasionally have had Red-backed shrike (Lanius collurio) and Woodchat shrike (Lanius senator), but also a specimen of Cuckoo (Cuculus canorus) and some sporadic Great reed warblers (Acrocephalus arundinaceus), European turtle dove (Streptopelia turtur), and Nightjars (Caprimulgus europaeus).
Among the hundreds of Melodious warblers, we found one already equipped with a ring, applied in some Norwegian ringing station.
Maggio è stato fino ad ora un mese molto caldo, con venti che non hanno disturbato oltremodo l'attività , costringendoci solo poche volte a tenere chiuse le reti più esposte.
Questa è la settimana finale della stagione, in questi giorni iniziamo a smontare la stazione e a fare le valigie.
May has been a very hot month so far, with winds that have not disturbed the activity too much, forcing us only a few times to keep the most exposed nets closed.
This is the final week of the season, these days we start closing the station and packing.
